Making SaladMy name is Rose Colleran.  I am a fitness enthusiast, wife and mother of two daughters residing in Medfield.  I provide nutrition & fitness coaching for people looking to achieve their optimal healthy state, regardless of their current health and fitness levels. In 2006 my life took an unexpected turn when my sister-in-law called to let me know she could get me a number to run the New York marathon that fall.  This surprising opportunity changed the course of my life.  Since that time, I have run 11 marathons (including New York, 6 in Boston, Chicago, Vermont, Providence and Philadelphia), 3 ultra-marathons and the first inaugural Dopey Challenge.  This journey sparked a desire for optimal health achieved through fitness and nutrition. This experience was so rewarding to me, I wanted to share my passion with others.  In 2010 I became a Health Coach after receiving a nutrition counseling certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN).  In addition, I became a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and a Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) certified Run Coach. I also have certifications in Jr. Fit Youth Specialty, TRX®, Real Ryder Indoor Cycling® and CrossFit Level One Trainer (CF-L1). Drawing on what I have learned through these programs, I will help you create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals. Never had I thought I would run a 5K race as I thought I wasn’t built for running nor did I ever enjoy it. However I forced myself to face my dislikes or misconceptions and signed up for Rose’s class. Initially it was baby steps, then it was all go and I completed the 5K and am now going to do a 10K (but no more than a 10!) Best thing about this experience is that if I cannot drive to the gym, wait for a class and then drive home again, I can squeeze a run into any time of the day and just put on my sneaks and run out the door: a relatively quick, efficient and quantitative free workout. I have always been interested in running, but never had success in sticking to a routine.  I would either give up too easily or overdo things and get injured or achy.  Working with Rose gave me the guidance, accountability and safe plan to build up to my first 5k.   I was surprised at how much fun I had in the process.  With Rose’s encouragement, I was able to run my first 10k just one month later!  Thank you, Rose- I am now hooked!
